About – Sanjay and Karishma

As Sanjay’s best friend is about to be married, he soon realises that he will be losing his partner in crime, and decides that it may not be a bad idea to start looking for something serious for himself. Sanjay’s search leads him to Karishma, a 31-year-old solicitor, who is successful, independent & beautiful, not exactly a match for him. Karishma seems to be fighting the same demons as Sanjay, as her best friend is also about to marry, and her fear of being alone leads her to a matrimonial website.

Sanjay & Karishma are 2 completely different people, looking for completely different things, but can they find true happiness with each other?

Sanjay’s best friend is Rajan, they have known each other most of their lives and have got each other in plenty of trouble over the years. Rajan’s fiance is Aaliya, and after years of living together in a city centre apartment they have finally decided to tie the knot.

Karishma’s best friend is Raksha, who met Vicram through an introduction. He is not her usual type as he is a Freshie. They have had their fair share of up’s and down’s, but they strongly believe they are soul mates and were destined to be together. They are looking forward to living together after the wedding

Sanjay & Karishma is centred on a 32-year-old guy called Sanjay; he is unemployed and lives at home with his parents. Since he lost his great job, he has become very insecure about life, especially women. He always thought of himself as being very witty and intelligent, but as he’s been single and unemployed for a while now, he’s lost all confidence.

As his best friend Rajan is about to be married, he fears that he’ll be alone, so goes on a journey to sort him self out, to find a job and a potential wife for himself. Rajan grew up on the same street as Sanjay, and they have been best friends ever since.

Rajan is very intelligent, but lacks simple common sense. He is very gullible, which has got him into plenty of trouble down the years, especially with Sanjay. Rajan has only ever had 1 girlfriend, Aaliya; they met at college, and have been together ever since, they now live together in their city center apartment.

Aaliya has only ever been with Rajan and loves him dearly; she has never had eyes for anyone else, although she does love to flirt in order to get what she wants. She always tries to see the best in people and help them out when she can.

Karishma is a solicitor who works for her father in his law firm. As she is an only child, she has had the very best in everything, from up bringing to education. She knows exactly what she wants out of life.

After seeing her best friend fall in love, decides that she wants to at least start the ball rolling, and start seriously looking for a potential husband. She gets frustrated as she always ends up with the same kind of guys, successful, with money and ambition. Surely, these are the kind of guys that she always expected to be with, but in reality, is this what she really wants????

Her best friend is Raksha; they grew up in the same neighborhood, and have known each other for most of their lives. Raksha is the middle of 3 sisters; the older sister is now married with kids, and the younger sister has been away travelling for a while.

Vicram is originally from India; he is the oldest child in a family of 13, all of who are back in India. Vicram originally came to the UK to study, and stayed on to work completing his studies. After various jobs he settled on becoming a freelance IT consultant, and is very successful.
